As a Raleigh portrait photographer I offer a variety of services to customers in the triangle area. Those areas include Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, Clayton, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, and Willow Spring. My studio can provide you with maternity photography, newborn photography, baby photography, children’s photography, modeling portfolios and even business head shots. Since I have served the triangle since 2004, I have experience in many genres of photography. My first studio was in Holly Springs. We moved the studio to Raleigh in 2013 and I had a goal. This goal was to build fairy gardens for my newborn portraits. My fairy gardens flower from early spring until late fall and give my studio a unique look and feel. I can’t tell you how nice it is to have the gardens right outside my studio door. My portrait studio in Raleigh is exactly what I wanted it to be.
This year I have really been doing a lot of modeling portfolios. It has definitely been a lot of fun. Styling sessions is something I have always loved to do so it’s right up my alley. 2017 was a great year for my studio. I am still excited and grateful about the opportunities that were afforded to me that year. One of the most exciting things that happened was that I was listed in a local shopping guide called Expertise as one of the top 20 newborn photographers in Raleigh. Again, I have been listed in 2018 and also 2019. Thank you so much staff at Expertise. As you can imagine I am so proud and excited about those listings. I’m that silly kind of person that jumps up when they get excited, so yep I was jumping. There are over 200 newborn photographers in just Raleigh so the competition is abundant. Since newborns are my favorite subjects, I knew I needed to do something different. Thus, my gardens were planned. They are usable for newborns from about early spring to late fall. As a Raleigh portrait photographer I had the opportunity to have my studio feature in the Raleigh News And Observer. That was really exciting for me, the child in the image and for Lola the little unicorn. Lola is part of the team of therapy horses called Stampede of Love. You can see lots of our sweet images under the thematic galleries and horse magic. I am thrilled to have a working relationship with their owner (mom) Tara Needham.
As a result of that news coverage, I received an interesting job offer. I was asked to art direct a video advertisement for the Town of Raleigh Parks and recreation. The wonderful job opportunity came from Myriad Media and it was so much fun working with them. I hired two pretty white horses and a gorgeous model, made unicorn horns and off we went to Dix Park. The crew from Myriad Media put together a video to show how magical the new Dix Park is going to be for the City of Raleigh. They wanted unicorns because unicorns are magical. Making the Incredible, Credible was presented in Downtown Raleigh at the Spark.con festival. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Dix park and the children and families in the Triangle area. This is Lola, the sweet little unicorn in the video. Because I am a Raleigh Portrait Photographer I offer a wide variety of portrait experiences for my customers. As you can see not only does Lola do advertisements for the City of Raleigh but she also poses for my camera.
I am humbled and honored by all of this good fortune. It’s important to me to thank my wonderful customers that continue to use me for their photography needs. As a Raleigh portrait photographer, I am constantly working towards improving the experience and images for my clients. For instance, I continue to stay motivated and educated by participating in online training and workshops. Also, I reinvest in my business each year with new supplies, props and equipment. That being said I have purchased some new and different lights and modifiers. They are like my new toys so I am super excited. The newborn workshops that I have taken are also very interesting. That type of training was not widely available in 2004 when I opened my studio. Needless to say, I am super excited about them.
